Fruit of Patience

Excerpt from my sermon. Enjoy!

Romans 8:25
But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.
God’s will for us is to enjoy life. One thing that stops us from enjoying life is our impatience. We should realize that it is useless and extremely frustrating to do something about something you cannot do anything about. (I’ve learned this the hard way)
Do not frustrate yourself trying to make things happen. God has a perfect timing for everything. You must wait on God’s timing.
2 Examples of impatience in the bible that resulted to awful predicament
1. Abraham – In his impatience to God’s promise slept with his wife’s servant Hagar.
2. Israelites in the wilderness – The first generation weren’t able to see the Promised Land.
We have received a lot of promises from God in our lives, prophecies and stuff, and God has a time for each one of them, we cannot force God to do it right away. Timing plays an important part in learning to trust God. If He did everything we asked (or he promised) immediately, we would never grow and develop. Timing and trust are twins. Trust God that he will fulfill every word that was spoken in our lives.
A new mom being impatient – when her baby is born she wishes her baby is 2 years old so she wouldn’t have to carry him, when the baby is 2 she wishes him to be 5 so he can speak, when he’s 5 she wishes him to be 7 so he could go to school and so on and so forth, she missed her child’s different growing up stages therefore ending up not actually enjoying it. We should enjoy our everyday life. We tend to be so impatient and just focus at the things we want to happen now that aren’t happening and take for granted and overlook what God is actually doing in our lives at the moment.
We should submit to God’s perfect timing and enjoy everything we have and everything he is doing in our lives right now by being patient. Let us not hurt God and take for granted the good things he’s given us. Let us learn to trust God; for he watches his word to fulfill it.

Love you all!
